Don’t feel ready to join a boxing studio yet? Maybe you’re working at home and need some movement in your routine? Maybe you’re not sure if boxing is for you? 

Well here are 3 helpful tips to start learning boxing TODAY: 💪💪💪

1. Boxing Stance! Feet hip width apart. Place your dominant foot (right foot if you’re right handed etc.) a bit behind your body and lift your heel up slightly. Bend your knees a tad. (Like you’re doing a teeny tiny squat) 💪Clench your fists and bring your hands up to just under your chin. (Remember to keep your elbows in) And you have it! Your boxing stance!

2. What’s a Jab & a Cross? 👊 The most basic yet important punches in boxing! A Jab is throwing your non-dominant hand straight out in front of you and a cross is throwing your dominant hand. 

3. What’s the biggest misconception about boxing? 🥊 Well, it’s that boxing is only an upper body workout. On the contrary, when you box with correct form you will be working your core, calves, quads, & lower back too! 

Now all you need is to set up your timer and start practicing your Jabs and Crosses 💥 (P.s. Try it with 1kg-2kg weights for an extra burn!)

The daily routine can get overwhelming, demanding, and suffocating. We forget how important it is to take time to re-focus on what's important.

This is a good reminder to talk kindly to yourself if you're feeling the pressure. And take a deep breath. (or a lot! 🌬)
